Write replies to reviews and comments, plan social posts, ask customers for reviews and check a draft before you publish it, from your WordPress dashboard.

== Description ==

wpChirp puts [Chirp Suite](https://chirpsuite.com/)'s tools for what customers say inside your WordPress dashboard. Paste a review, pick a tool, press the button, and read the answer in plain language.

**An inbox for your own site, which sends nothing:**

* **Waiting for a reply.** Comments and product reviews from visitors that nobody on your team has answered, lowest ratings and oldest first, each with a button that writes the reply.
* **Your ratings.** The average, the spread, whether the last three months are up or down, and products with no reviews.
* **Unfinished posts.** Pages and posts that still contain a [blank] such as [date] or [review link].
* **Ready to share?** Posts with no featured image or description, small share pictures, long titles, and a home page with no share picture. Links on the Posts list and the post editor open Post ideas filled in from a post.
* **Stars in search results.** Whether your home page marks up reviews of your own business (which Google ignores), whether product star markup matches the reviews on the page, and pages that look as though they send happy customers to a review site and unhappy ones to a private form.
* **Reviews to ask for.** With WooCommerce, how many customers finished an order 5 to 14 days ago and have not left a review. Only the count is shown. wpChirp never emails your customers.
* **Contact and trust.** Whether the home page describes the business to search engines, shows a phone number, and your site links to your Google review form.
* **Tone of your past replies.** Optional and paid: checks your last five replies to customers with Draft check. It shows the credits and approximate dollars first and asks you to confirm.

**Four tools, free to start, with no account:**

* **Reply helper.** Paste a review or comment. You get what the customer is really saying, whether to reply, anything that needs care, and three replies in different tones. On the Comments screen, a "Write a reply with wpChirp" link fills in the comment for you.
* **Post ideas.** Tell it about your business and where you post (Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn or Google Business Profile). You get posts sized for the platform, with any facts you must supply left in [square brackets].
* **Review requests.** Three honest ways to ask a customer for a review by text, email, receipt line or out loud, written to follow the rules of Google, Yelp and Facebook.
* **Draft check.** Paste a reply or post and see the risks before it goes out: promises, private details, blame, tone and length, with a safer version.

**One tool that uses credits, only if you add them:**

* **Review insights.** Fill it in from your site's own recent comments and product reviews, or paste reviews from Google or Facebook. You get the themes, what people love and complain about, what to fix first and which reviews deserve a reply. 4 credits (about US$0.04) a run. You will only be asked about it if you open that tab.

Credits start at US$10 for 1,000 and never expire. You pay only for what you run. You can also add a key to keep using the free tools after the daily free runs are used.

**What wpChirp does not do:** it never posts, sends or changes anything on your site. It writes text and you copy it. It does not run in the background, add anything to your public pages, or show ads. Everything it writes is written by an AI model, is marked that way, and should be read and edited before you use it.

== External services ==

wpChirp connects to one service, **Chirp Suite** (chirpsuite.com), which runs the tools. It is operated by the plugin's author.

* **The inbox:** nothing. It runs inside your site and reads your comments, ratings, orders and posts. The only requests it makes are from your site to its own home page and a few of its own product pages, to read their search markup and share tags.
* **Tone of your past replies:** only if you press the button and confirm. Each of your last five replies to a customer, and the comment it answers, is sent with your Chirp Suite key to the Draft check tool and uses credits. Names and email addresses are never sent.
* **When:** only after you press the button on a tool, or save a Chirp Suite key. Nothing is sent when the plugin is installed or activated, and nothing is sent in the background.
* **Free tools, first run:** your site's home address, the plugin version and your WordPress version are sent once to connect the site. Chirp Suite then asks your site for a one-time code at `/?rest_route=/wpchirp/v1/verify` to confirm you control the address.
* **Each run:** only what you typed or chose in that tool (for example a review you pasted and a short description of your business). It is passed to an AI model through Vortops (vortops.com), the AI service run by the same author, to write the answer. It is not stored.
* **Review insights:** if you press "Use my site's recent comments and reviews", up to about 12,000 characters of recent approved visitor comments are filled in, as plain text with no names, emails or addresses, and are sent only when you press the run button.
* **Paid runs:** your Chirp Suite key, plus the same text as above.
* **What Chirp Suite keeps:** your site's address, the plugin and WordPress versions, and a count of free runs (to apply fair-use limits). The text you send and the answers are not kept. Disconnect in the plugin, or delete the plugin, to remove the site and its counts.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin or install it from the Plugins screen, then activate it.
2. Open **wpChirp** in the admin menu.
3. Pick a tool and press its button. The first run connects your site to Chirp Suite.

The free tools need a public https website. They cannot connect from a local or test site.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need an account? =
Not for the four free tools. A Chirp Suite account and key are only needed for review insights, or to keep going after the daily free runs.

= Is there a limit on the free tools? =
Yes, a fair-use limit: 20 free runs a day per site, and each tool can run 8 times an hour. The screen shows how many are left.

= Does it post replies for me? =
No. It writes text and you copy it. wpChirp never posts, sends or changes anything.

= Are the replies safe to use as they are? =
Read and edit them first. They are written by an AI model and can be wrong. The reply helper will not promise refunds or compensation, and the draft check is there to catch risks, but you are the one who publishes.

= Why can't it run on my local or staging site? =
The tools are run from the internet, so the free connection can only see public https websites.

= What happens to my data if I delete the plugin? =
The plugin tells Chirp Suite to forget your site and removes its own settings.
